Hi, I’m Pat!

I’m a product designer with a background in human-centered design, engineering, and user experience. I studied mechanical engineering at Clemson University and then, after a year working in the real world, I went on to graduate from Stanford’s Masters Program in Design. It was an amazing two year deep dive in design thinking methodology where I learned from some of the best designers in the world. Now you can find me working as Lead UX Designer on Rivian’s concept design and prototyping team.

My recent work includes designing and developing Rivian’s new haptic steering wheel. This project has been a great opportunity to work cross functionally and show how the product design process helps blur the line between design and engineering, leading to an innovative project. I was fortunate to present this technology to MKBHD and also be named an inventor on a patent for this work.

I love design because I love people. I love working in the trenches with my users, getting to know their worlds, and coming up with creative solutions to solve their various problems. Design is the way I understand the world and it gives me an opportunity to impact it.
