About

Engage+ provides an easy solution for patients to manage and order their prescription medication. Working with Envision’s APIs we are able to populate the user’s drugs into their virtual medicine cabinet, remind them when to refill medication, and find savings for future scripts. This secure, cross-platform app is HIPAA compliant in both Android and iOS devices. Engage+ was launched on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. It was later purchased by the pharmaceutical group, EnvisionRx.

Target Users

For patients with chronic conditions and prescription medication, managing drugs can become a burden on everyday life. The Engage+ app helps them manage their prescriptions, find better prices, and reminds them when they need to refill their medicine or get a new script.

Working closely with Engage and EnvisionRx, I led a ux process that focused on user personas, customer journey maps, and user needs.

Technology

The Engage app partnered with EnvisionRX, using their APIs to deliver up to date information about patient prescriptions. The login and APIs had to be HIPPA compliant to keep our users’ information secure.

As a designer, understanding the API calls allowed me to surface data with appropriate context to help our users achieve their goals.

Business Model

EnvisionRx needed an app to provide better service to their users, increasing customer acquisition and retention. Part of this service was to help users find cheaper drug options and sign up for their mail order service.

As a designer, it was important to understand our client’s goals. This allowed us to deliver a flow that pushed users to sign up for mail order prescriptions and save on drug costs.

Role and Process

As the project manager and ux designer, it was my job to design and deliver an application that balanced user needs, client goals, and project scope. I worked closely with our developer team, graphic designers, and clients to reach our goal.

  • Manage client relationships by delivering weekly updates and facilitating collaboration.

  • Lead ux design by creating user personas, customer journey maps, and wireframes.

  • Collaborate with UI designers to deliver designs that balanced our user and client needs.

  • Managed our developer team by running an agile development process with daily scrum and maintaining our product backlog.

  • QA tested our application to ensure a high quality experience.

  • Shipped our final product to the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.

Final Results

The Engage app was shipped to the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. It was later purchased by the major pharmaceutical group, EnvisionRx. This app helps patients manage and order their prescription medications. By running our ux design process and leading project management, I collaborated with engineering, design, and our client partner to successfully ship this product.

I’ve recently redesigned the checkout ux ad ui of the checkout experience for Engage. Click through the prototype to experience the new flow.
